Van Amburgh&#039;&#039;&#039; (28 août 1863 à Leon, Minnesota (USA) — 7 février 1947) fut le secrétaire-trésorier pendant 43 ans de la Société [[Watch Tower]] sous les ères Russell et Rutherford.<br /> <br /> ==Biographie==<br /> Sa famille et lui s&#039;installent à Northfield, Rice, Minnesota en 1873. Deux ans plus tard, il est reçu dans l&#039;Église méthodiste de Northfield. Après avoir obtenu son diplôme de fin d’études secondaires, il suit les cours du Carlton College de 1882 à 1883. Par la suite il obtient un poste au sein de la compagnie ferroviaire de Northfield.<br /> <br /> Le 28 septembre 1887, il se marie avec Ada May Wood. <br /> <br /> Au début des années 1890, il emménage à Huron, Beadle, Dakota du Sud et, en 1892, il devient membre de la l’Église méthodiste unifiée de Huron où il est élu serviteur. Il participe également à la gestion de l&#039;YMCA locale.<br /> <br /> Il entre en contact avec les publications de Russell en février 1896 et abandonne ses fonctions au sein de l&#039;Église méthodiste l&#039;année suivante. <br /> <br /> Sa femme, Ada, meurt le 25 mars 1897 des suites d&#039;une phtisie. <br /> <br /> En 1898-1899, il est assistant à temps partiel du siège de Pennsylvanie. Néanmoins, en 1900, il vit toujours à Huron chez M. Theron R. May et il est toujours employé des chemins de fer. Cette année-là, il quitte son travail pour venir s&#039;installer à Brooklyn où il est élu au conseil d&#039;administration de la Société Watchtower en août 1901.<br /> <br /> Il est l&#039;auteur d&#039;un article phare du &#039;&#039;Golden Age&#039;&#039; du 21 mai 1924 intitulé &quot;Une bible pour le scientifique&quot; théorisant sur la Grande Pyramide de Gizeh et des calculs arrivant aux dates de 1789, 1874, 1914, 1925 et 1926, synthétisant en cela les précédentes prédictions de Russell et des frères Miller.
